Mumbai reported 1,147 new COVID-19 cases, 548 recoveries and 16 death on Thursday (November 26) taking the total number of cases in the financial capital to 2,79,737. As per, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) the total number of recovered patients in Mumbai are 2,54,152, while the death toll is at 10,739. So far, 18,36,250 test are conducted in the city by BMC. The recovery rate in the city stands at 91 per cent. According to the BMC data, there are 417 containment zones, 4,679 building are been sealed.

To tackle the spread of the virus, ever since the outbreak started, BMC has set up a few COVID centres. One such COVID centre with 1,000  beds is at Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) grounds in BKC to curb the spread of coronavirus in the city. After, BKC the BMC had started jumbo COVID centre at NESCO Goregaon too. The BKC COVID centre was the first centre to start decided post-COVID OPD after which NESCO Goregoan has decided to start post-COVID OPD from Monday (November 23). BKC COVID care centre had treated nearly 400 patients.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra reported 6,406 new COVID-19 cases, 4,815 recoveries and 65 death on Thursday (November 26) taking the total number of cases in the state to 18,02,365. The total number of recovered patients in Maharashtra are 16,68,538. While the death toll is at 46,813 in Maharashtra. There are 85,963 active cases in the state. Also, there are 5,28,690 people home quarantine and 6,644 people in COVID centres.

Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray had addressed the media few days ago and requested citizens to follow safety protocol as the vaccine has not arrived in the country, there are chances of the second wave to arrive in the state.
