State records over 15,000 COVID19 cases in one day

Coronavirus cases in the state have seen a significant rise over the last few weeks, however, the number of patients who are discharged after treatment has also raised. Data released by the state health department shows that a total of 11,17,720 patients have been cured in the state, taking the recovery rate to 78.91 per cent.

Currently, over 2.6 lakh cases in the state are being treated for COVID-19 infection, and as of October 3, 2020, more than 13,000 patients were treated and given a discharge from several hospitals. Meanwhile, a total of 15,591 new patients and 424 deaths were recorded, taking the case fatality rate in the state, to 2.65 per cent, said Health Minister Rajesh Tope.

Officials have tested a total of 69.6 lakh samples sent till date, out of which 14.16 lakh samples (20.35 per cent cases) have tested positive (20.35 per cent). Moreover, 21.94 lakh people are under the home quarantine regime and 29,051 people are in the institutional quarantine.
