State records more than 20,000 COVID19 cases in one day

While the coronavirus cases in the state have seen an increase, the number of recovered patients in Maharashtra reached the 10-lakh mark.

The report released by the state health department, once again revealed that the number of newly diagnosed patients has decreased in comparison to those who were cured for COVID19. As of September 26, 2020, more than 23,000 patients were treated successfully and discharged from several hospitals across the state. Meanwhile, a total of 20,419 new patients have been diagnosed.

Tally of recovered patients in the state has reached 10,16,450 and with this, the recovery rate in the state reaches 76.94 per cent. Meanwhile, more than 2.69 lakh patients are undergoing treatment for coronavirus, informed Health Minister Rajesh Tope.

The total number of coronavirus cases in Maharashtra has reached 13,21,176 with 35,191 deaths. More than 400 COVID-19 deaths were reported in the state on Saturday, taking the case fatality rate to 2.66 per cent.

Officials have tested more than 63.69 lakh samples sent till date, out of which 20.74 per cent, i.e. 13.21 lakh samples have tested positive. Currently, over 19.45 lakh patients are under home quarantine and 30,571 are under the institutional quarantine, as per the guidelines issued by the state.
