On Monday, September 28, Mumbai reported 2,055 fresh cases of the coronavirus along with 40 new deaths. The city also saw 1,944 new recoveries taking the COVID-19 cured tally to 16,48,883. Moreover, the city breached the 2 lakh mark as tally reached 2,00,775 cases with 8831 fatalities.

However, the recovery rate of the coronavirus in the city has risen to 82 per cent while its growth rate has reduced again to 1.04 per cent. As per Mumbai’s civic body, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) 10,91,537 samples have been tested till date with an 18.21 per cent positivity rate. Moreover, as per data shared by the BMC, 105 out of 1,128 ventilator beds are vacant whereas 203 out of 1,917 ICU beds are vacant.

In the past week, a massive number of fresh cases of the coronavirus were reported in Mumbai. Post the relaxations in the lockdown norms along with the celebrations of Ganesh Chaturthi, the city has witnessed an increase in COVID-19 cases. Moreover, the number of patients testing positive for the coronavirus has also increased from 1,000 to 1,300 to 2,000 to 2,500 cases every day. The recent report shared by the BMC shows that Bandra as the most affected place with the doubling rate at 45 days, while Parel is the least affected ward with a doubling rate at 98 days.
