Maharashtra reported 5,182 new COVID-19 cases, 8,066 recoveries and 115 deaths on Thursday (December 3), taking the total number of cases in the state to 18,37,358. There are 85,535 active cases in the state and 17,03,274 patients have completely recovered so far. The death toll is at 47,472 in Maharashtra.

In total 11,059,305 people have been tested in Maharashtra. The states recovery rate is 92.70 per cent. In the state, 5,48,137 people are in-home quarantine while 5,939 persons are in institutional quarantine.

Mumbai reported 878 new COVID-19 cases, 764 recoveries and 18 deaths on Thursday (December 3), taking the total number of cases in the financial capital to 2,83,689. According to Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) data, there are 13,154 active cases and 2,58,112 patients have completely recovered so far. The death toll is at 10,857 in the city. The recovery rate stands at 91 per cent. At present 19,39,510 tests have been conducted by the BMC. There are 450 contaminated zones in slums and chawls while 5,369 buildings are sealed by the BMC.

Meanwhile, India reported 36,594 new COVID-19 cases, 42,916 recoveries and 540 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the tally up to 95,71,559, according to the data by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Thursday (December 3). While in total 90,16,289 have completely recovered. The death toll is at 1,39,188 in the country. At present, there are 4,16,082 active cases. According to the ICMR, 14,47,27,749 samples have been tested up to December 3.
