Even though the instance of the coronavirus was largely under control in the H West Ward which consists of areas of Bandra, Khar and Santacruz, over the last few days, the cases of coronavirus have witnessed an increase.

At present, the total number of cases of coronavirus in the area is half that of Borivali and Andheri. Moreover, the rate of growth is worrying as an average of 100 patients are being registered every day for the last couple of days. Last week, 655 patients reportedly tested positive for the coronavirus. Currently, a total of 6,950 people are affected in the area. Out of which 1,207 patients are undergoing treatment.

Meanwhile, on Monday, October 5, Maharashtra recorded 10,244 fresh cases of the coronavirus taking the state's COVID-19 tally to 14,53,653. Currently, there are 2,52,277 active cases in the state. With 12,982 COVID-19 patients discharged in the day, the number of recovered soared to 11,62,585.

On the other hand, in Mumbai, there are 649 active containment zones currently whereas 10,106 buildings have been sealed. In the last 24 hours, 18,334 high-risk contacts have been traced. At present, 1,560 high-risk contacts are admitted to the COVID-19 Care Centres. The patient doubling rate in the city is 67 days. However, the recovery rate of the Mumbai district remains constant at 83 per cent.
