26 new COVID19+ cases in Maharashtra; total in the state increases to 661

Until Saturday, April 4, 2020, 377 coronavirus cases were identified in Mumbai, out of which, 52 have been discharged post the treatment and 32 deaths were reported.

An update, as of April 5, 2020, states that 26 new coronavirus positive cases have been identified in Maharashtra and the number of COVID19+ cases in the state has now increased from 635 to 661. These inputs are based on PTI's discussion with an official from the health ministry.

Reports state that this update does not include the cases from Mumbai. However, people across other cities have tested positive. As of now, 17 new cases were identified in Pune, taking the total in the city to 82, making it the second-highest in the state, after Mumbai. The update also includes four cases from Pimpri, three from Ahmadnagar, two from Aurangabad. 

Until Saturday, 635 coronavirus cases were identified in the state, out of which Mumbai topped the list with 377 cases. Out of the total identified, 52 have been discharged post the treatment and 32 deaths were observed. 

Over the last few days, the number of cases in Mumbai has seen an increase as some more people from different localities tested positive. Two new coronavirus positive cases were identified in Mumbai's Dharavi slums, taking the total in the area to five cases, out of which one death was reported. BMC has taken strict measures to contain the area and people have been asked to stay home. Essentials and necessary items are provided on request.
