The spread of coronavirus in the country has raised concerns and with an increasing number of cases, all the governments are taking strict measures to ensure people do not take the situation lightly anymore. The number of COVID19 cases is increasing day by day, and the number has seen an exponential rise in Maharashtra. The financial capital has seen an impact as it holds half the number of cases in the state.
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, in a recent update, released the data with the number of cases from Mumbai. The ward-wise report showed that the most number of coronavirus positive cases in Mumbai were from Worli, Prabhadevi areas.
The spread of coronavirus in Mumbai's slums is posing a threat to both residents and workers in the locality. With a few cases being reported from Dharavi and many from Worli, officials are now on alert to ensure that the spread is contained within the slums. Hence, the BMC decided to seal the area, calling it a no-go zone, where the people can't enter or exit the locality under any circumstances. The essentials and other needs are being provided by the officials.
The exponential increase in Mumbai-based cases shows that the virus has spread to many localities across the city. With a total of 377 cases, Mumbai is one of the hotspots in the country. Out of the 377 cases in the city, 68 are reported from Worli and Prabhadevi areas, followed by 44 cases from Grant road, 37 from Andheri west and 26 from Andheri East.
