On Saturday, August 15, Ulhasnagar reported 31 fresh cases of the coronavirus while the total number of positive cases in the area surged to 7,329.

According to the Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation, with 19 recoveries on Saturday as many as 6,859 patients have been fully cured and discharged. The total number of active cases now stands at 294 while 176 people have succumbed to the disease.

On the other hand, Ambernath clocked 36 fresh cases of the coronavirus on Saturday taking the total number to 4,461. Currently, 342 patients are undergoing treatment in the city while 172 people have succumbed to the disease.

Meanwhile, in Badlapur, 41 people tested positive for the coronavirus on Saturday taking the city’s tally to 3,376 with 59 fatalities.

Maharashtra, on Saturday, August 15, reported 12,614 fresh cases of the coronavirus in the last 24 hours, propelling the state's COVID-19 tally to 5,84,754, as per data from the state health department.

The number of recovered patients rose by 6,844 in the same period, taking the aggregate of recovered cases to 4,08,286. The recovery rate in the state now stands at 69.82 per cent, closing in on the national average of 71.6 per cent.

Moreover, 10,44,974 people are under home quarantine and 37,524 people in institutional quarantine. Furthermore, out of 31,11,514 laboratory samples, 5,84,754 have been tested positive (18.79 per cent) for the disease until August 15.
