The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has now decided to not change its guidelines every other day or even every few days for senior citizens and for citizens overall.

This development comes as it was observed that keeping changes make it hard for people to figure out what the latest rules are.

Moreover, for senior citizens who aren't tech-savvy, it's even harder to track changes and results in confusion.

Less than a week after barring walk-ins, BMC will allow walk-ins for people above 60 and differently-abled persons three days a week (Monday to Wednesday) and online appointments on the other three days from next week. There will be no vaccinations on Sunday in Mumbai.

The BMC has emphasised that walk-ins will be allowed for citizens at vaccination centres closer to their homes.

Additional Municipal Commissioner Suresh Kakani said the decision was taken to make it easier for locals to get vaccinated and for those who were struggling with online appointments.

Moreover, BMC has decided to now bring the COVID-19 vaccination to your doorsteps. This development comes amid chaos over the booking of appointment slots and their unavailability.

In addition, the civic body will soon conduct immunization programmes meant specifically for specially-abled citizens across Mumbai. Officials said that a special centre will be established in every corporator’s electoral ward to help specially-abled individuals get their vaccine.
