Central Railways (CR), Railway Protection Force (RPF) began “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” celebrations at various Stations of Central Railway from July 01, 2022. 

As a part of this, Bike Rally started on Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Bhusaval and Solapur Divisions. The Bike Rally covered 43 stations covering total of 1,665 Km over Central Railway. All these bike rallies will converge at Mumbai and start for New Delhi to be on the day of Independence i.e. August 15, 2022.

Truck Mounted Video Wall and Band display show was organized at 30 Railway Stations over Central Railway. The video walls showed films and other topics on Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

Tree Plantation Drive was conducted at 15 Railway Stations and 3,065 saplings were planted over Central Railway.

Jal Seva was given by RPF at 19 stations on Central Railway and a Run for Unity was organised by Bhusaval Division in which 120 persons Participated. It also conducted cleanliness drive at 10 stations wherein 152 RPF personnel participated over Central Railway.

Meanwhile, Anil Kumar Lahoti, General Manager, CR chaired the 123rd Zonal Railways Users’ Consultative Committee (ZRUCC) meeting at the Central Railway Auditorium, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Mumbai on 08.7.2022. A total of 45 ZRUCC members including Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Dr. Jaisiddeshwar Shivacharya Mahaswamiji and Hon’ble Member of Legislative Council Smt Uma Khapre were present during the meeting.

Addressing the meeting, Anil Kumar Lahoti said that the suggestions of the ZRUCC members hold an important place and helps railways to better its services to passengers.

Lahoti also said that Central Railway has achieved the distinction of being the Number One among all Zonal Railways in terms of Non-Fare Revenue and Ticket Checking revenue in the Financial Year 2021-22.

He added that CR has also registered a record freight loading of 76.55 million tonnes in the Financial Year 2021-22 which is an increase of 23% over the corresponding previous financial year. Also there has been an increase of 107% in parcel transportation. 

Lahoti also said that work on providing better passenger amenities like provision of lifts, escalators, FOBs etc., better security like installation of CCTV cameras, doubling of rail lines, laying of new rail lines and other infrastructure work including re-development of stations is in full swing.

Members of the ZRUCC discussed various rail users related issues and offered a number of suggestions in this meeting. The General Manager assured the Members that CR has examined the suggestions of the Members and to implement the various suggestions offered after detailed deliberation of the same.

Principal Heads of Departments and Senior Officers of Central Railway were present during the meeting.
