
Tourism Minister Shambhuraj Desai said that a unanimous decision will be taken regarding the payment of pending service charges by MHADA for 56 buildings in Mumbai and its suburbs.
The issue was discussed in a meeting held under Rule 101 of the Maharashtra Legislative Council, in connection with Notice No. 569. During the meeting, there was a consensus on preparing a proposal to pay service charges for the period from 2021 to 2026 at the old rates. The proposal will be forwarded by Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and a final decision will be taken under their coordination, Desai said.
Another meeting was held under Notice No. 82 regarding cluster redevelopment of buildings in fishermen colonies, police colonies, other local colonies, and MHADA colonies in Mahim. The discussions at the primary level were positive.
Additionally, under Urgent Question No. 6831, a meeting was held on the redevelopment of MHADA housing society buildings in Samata Nagar, Kandivali (East). There was consensus on taking decisions to provide relief to tenants. Desai has directed MHADA Mumbai to prepare a time-bound program for the same.
