Throughout our childhood, we have often forgotten our pencils and pens at home and later were unable to take notes at school. Well, in a similar fashion, the Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply and Transport (BEST) was unable to provide electricity bills to 20 per cent of its consumers due to lack of stationery material. The consumers were unable to get the bills of September due to the issue.

On Tuesday, a meeting regarding the same was conducted with the BEST officials where it was found out that the irresponsibility of the staff members and officials had led to the mess. 

The officials further complained that they were unable to print the electricity bills as they did not have sufficient stationery material. Accordingly, opposition leader Ravi Raja stated that bill is supposed to arrive by the 8th of every month but this time, the bills haven’t arrived despite the month almost ending.

The carelessness of the officials has caused loss to the transport and electricity supply firm who will now have to provide the consumers with an extension to pay their due bills.
