Demonetisation impact likely on BMC polls

Mumbai – The demonetisation effect is likely to cast an impact on the forthcoming municipal corporation elections and local governing body polls. BJP spokesperson Madhav Bhandari has claimed that black money is mostly used in such elections. On the other hand, Samajwadi party leader and MLA Abu Azmi said that though black money is used for these elections, the government’s decision to demonetise Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes will not affect the BMC elections.
