In yet another worrying news for the motorists, petrol and diesel rates were hiked for seventh day since the ending of a four-and-half-month long hiatus in rate revision on March 22. Owing to this, diesel rates in a few districts of Maharashtra has now breached the INR 100-mark.
According to reports, petrol prices hiked by 80 paise a litre and diesel by 70 paise today, March 29, taking the total increase in rates in the last one week to ₹4.80 per litre across the state.
However, it has come to light that in Mumbai, the financial capital city, saw a spike in petrol and diesel rates by 85 paise and 75 paise respectively.
Therefore, in Mumbai, the price of petrol increased to ₹115.04 per litre and diesel ₹99.25. Hence, it can be said that the diesel prices in the city too shall breach the INR 100-mark with the next hike.
Meanwhile, in neighbouring Thane and Navi Mumbai, petrol price went up to ₹115.13 and diesel to ₹98.64. In Aurangabad, the price of diesel is now ₹100.91 per litre.
Diesel is around less than 1 rupee short of ₹100 at a few places such as Mumbai, Thane, Navi Mumbai and Buldhana. At Nanded and Parbhani, it is 71 paise and 7 paise short of a century.
