Antop Hill – The BMC’s anti-encroachment squad demolished hundreds of illegally added structures in Antop Hill area on Friday. Due to strong police bandobast, no untoward incident took place during the demolition drive.

Illegally added structures in buildings along roads in Sangam Nagar and Kamla Nagar had cropped up in large numbers. The people including hawkers had encroached the footpaths and open gutters due to which students and commuters were facing difficulties. The stink coming out of sewage water had also added into the woes of local residents.

Finally, Keshav Ubale, assistant commissioner of F-North ward, ordered the anti-encroachment squad to demolish encroachments. Ubale said that the action against encroachers will continue till all the roads are not cleared off encroachment.
