The crime branch unit acted on a tip-off and conducted a raid at an office near Siddharth Hospital in Mumbai's Goregaon where the two were found to be selling fake vaccine certificates.

According to the latest reports, the Mumbai crime branch has arrested two people for allegedly selling fake COVID-19 vaccination certificates. The arrested have been identified as Sahad Sajid Shaikh (21) and Maviya Abdul Bhoraniya (21), they have lost nearly 75 vaccination certificates over the past few months, said the police, remarked narratives. 

Based on accounts, the crime branch unit acted on a tip-off and conducted a raid at an office near Siddharth Hospital in Mumbai's Goregaon where the two were found to be selling fake vaccine certificates. The police elaborated on how the duplicitous certificates sold by them were xerox copies, but they were selling them for INR 1500 per certificate. 

It has been claimed in reports that the arrested pair allegedly duplicated the vaccine certificates by putting false details in the CoWin portal. It has been reported that the two have been arrested on the charges of cheating as well as forgery and they have been handed over to the Goregaon police stations for further probe. 

Meanwhile, the police have also elaborated on how they are looking out for more people connected to the vaccine certificate fraud. They are reported to be searching for the other accused who is also part of the racket.
