A fire broke out at Challenger Towers in Kandivali on Sunday, November 22, 2020. As per reports, the fire was confined to the 24th floor of the G+27 structure. The building is located in Kandivali's Thakur Village area.

Upon receiving the information, rescue teams were rushed to the spot to douse the fire. Three fire engines were used along with other necessary equipment. Besides this, two fire engines were also asked to remain on stand-by, in case of emergency.

ANI took to Twitter to share the information that the fire was extinguished. The message said, "A fire that broke out on the 24th floor flat of Challengers Tower at Thakur Village in Mumbai's Kandivali East area has been extinguished. No injuries reported so far."

This is the seventh fire reported this week in Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR). Earlier this week, incidents were reported at Nair Hospital, Kurla, Byculla, Sakinaka, Dahisar and Kalyan. Similar incidents have occurred over the last few months, and municipal corporation along with the Mumbai Fire brigade recently reviews and inspected the malls after which notices were issued to 29 malls in the city as deficiencies were found in the fire safety measures.
