A massive fire broke out in a furniture godown in Bhiwandi area of Thane district on Friday morning, January 28. However, it has come to light that this fire is now spread to three more godowns in Sumaras Chamunda Complex.
Though, no injuries or casualties have been reported so far. The blaze erupted around 1.40 am in the shop located at Chamunda complex on old Bhiwandi road, near Kasheli creek, reports stated.
According to reports, as many as four fire vehicles present on the spot are engaged in controlling the fire.
Moreover, four fire tenders from the Bhiwandi Nizampur City Municipal Corporation (BNCMC) and Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC), along with a team of the Regional Disaster Management Cell of Thane’s civic body were rushed to the spot after being alerted of the incident and efforts were on to douse the fire.
Meanwhile, the cause of fire is yet to be ascertained.
