On April 29, Monday, a massive fire broke out at the Big Bazaar located in Matunga (W). The fire erupted at around 5:15 pm and accordingly, five fire engines and three water tankers were dispatched to douse the fire.
As per the reports, no casualties have been recorded so far and the fire brigade officials are attempting to get the fire under control.
The supermarket is situated near Matunga's Tulsi Pipe Road and as per the primary information, all the people inside were successfully rescued. However, the cause behind the fire is still not confirmed.
Meanwhile, the residents from the nearby buildings faced trouble due to the smoke arising due to the fire.
