A fishing boat collided with a submarine in the Arabian Sea, killing two sailors. In this accident, the submarine of the Navy has suffered a loss of crores of rupees. A case was registered against Tandel on the fishing boat at the Yellowgate Police Station in Mumbai on Sunday. The bodies of both the sailors on the boat have been taken into custody by the police and they have been sent to JJ Hospital. Meanwhile, the body is being identified.

Indian Navy's submarine INS Karanja from Karwar port in Karnataka was proceeding at a speed of 6 nautical miles in South East (154 degrees) off the coast of Goa state at around 7.15 pm on November 21, maintaining periscope depth. According to the complaint filed by Indian Navy Executive Officer Kamal Preet Singh, the fishing vessel FV Marthoma was visible on the submarine's system. At that time the fishing boat F V Marthoma suddenly picked up speed and started approaching our submarine. At that time, the officer of the watch increased the submarine's speed and changed course to keep a safe distance from the boat. But the F V Marathoma speeded up and rammed the submarine.

Submarine officers undertook a rescue operation to save the sailors from the sunken boat. After some time, an Indian Navy ship rushed to the rescue. The bodies of two missing sailors from the sunken boat FV Marthoma have been recovered during the search operation and these bodies have been handed over to the Yellow Gate Police. Kamal Preet Singh, Executive Officer of the Navy, has said in the complaint that the submarine of the Navy has been damaged to the tune of INR 10 crore.
