Even though the number of recoveries in the state is high Maharashtra sees 111 deaths taking the death toll up to 47,357 on Wednesday (December 2).

The number of COVID-19 cases in the state has been fluctuating over the last few days. However, the number of deaths of COVID-19 patients from the past three weeks have been in double digits. On Wednesday, (December 2) the death toll rose to 111. Even though the number of recoveries in the state is high the death toll went up to 47,357 on Wednesday (December 2).

Maharashtra reported 5,600  new COVID-19 cases, 5,027 recoveries and 111 deaths on Wednesday (December 2), taking the total number of cases in the state to 18,32,176. There are 88,537 active cases in the state and 16,95,208 patients have recovered so far. The death toll is at 47,357 in Maharashtra.

In total 10,989,496 people have been tested in Maharashtra. The states recovery rate is 92.52 per cent In the state. There are 5,47,791 persons in-home quarantine while 6,073 persons are in institutional quarantine.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered mass vaccinations in their country from next week. While the world is in the process of figuring out the COVID-19 vaccine that works the best for them, Russia claims Sputnik V vaccine to be successful. Russia also claims that the human trials for Sputnik V were successful. The vaccine was given to Putin's own daughter. In the initial phase, 300 million people in India will be vaccinated. The country will make 50 crore doses and vaccinate 25 crore people by July 2020.
