Gas Cylinder Blast At BDD Chawl, Four Injured

On Tuesday, November 30, a gas cylinder blast occurred at Worli's BDD Chawl, at nearly 7.10 am. Owing to this blast, a fire broke out wherein four have been injured, highlighted reports.

Based on accounts, those injured have been identified as Anand Puri who is 27-years-old, Vidya Puri who is 25-years-old, amongst others. 

Those injured also include two minors comprising a four-month-old child named Mangesh Puri who is believed to be critical. Additionally, a five-year-old boy named Vishnu Puri was also injured who is claimed to be stable. According to accounts, they are undergoing treatment at the Nair Hospital which is operated by the BMC.

Doctors have stated that whilst Anand and Mangesh were critical, Vidya and Vishnu were stable and were undergoing treatment. It is believed that the fire broke out in Worli's BDD Chawl post the explosion of a gas cylinder.

At BDD Chawl No-3, Kamgar Vasahat on Ganpatrao Jadhav Marg in Worli is where the mishap transpired. The fire has been designated as that of Level 1. 

The account has quoted an official who elaborated on how they received a call at nearly 7.10 am about the cylinder blast. While the fire has been doused, the Mumbai police and BMC ward staff were mobilized.

The four were then promptly taken to the Nair Hospital. At the civic-run hospital, the injured are being treated for burn injuries.
