The Konkan Board of the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) has revised the sale prices of 6,248 affordable homes under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) in Thane district.
The updated prices apply to units in Shirgaon and Khoni and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.In Shirgaon, 5,236 units had an earlier price of INR 20,72,146 each. These units are now available at INR 19,28,742. This is a reduction of INR 1.43 lakh per home.
In Khoni, 1,012 homes were originally priced at INR 20,13,500. The new rate for these units is INR 19,11,700, showing a price drop of INR 1.01 lakh.
The revised pricing was approved by MHADA’s Vice President and CEO, Sanjeev Jaiswal (IAS). Revati Gaikar, Chief Officer of the Konkan Housing and Area Development Board, urged potential buyers to use this opportunity.
There is no deadline for purchasing these homes. Sales will continue until all the units are sold.
Applicants must meet certain income criteria to be eligible:The Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category is for families earning up to INR 6 lakh annually.
The Lower Income Group (LIG) includes those with a household income between INR 6 lakh and INR 9 lakh.
The Middle Income Group (MIG) applies to incomes from INR 9 lakh to INR 12 lakh.
The High Income Group (HIG) covers applicants earning more than INR 12 lakh per year.
MHADA is expected to announce a draw around Diwali 2025 for approximately 5,000 more affordable homes. As per sources, the upcoming draw will likely include about 5,200 houses. In 2024, more than 2,000 affordable homes were offered for sale, with prices ranging from INR 29 lakh to INR 6.82 crore.
