Due to heavy rainfall on Sunday, the Khadavli and Runde bridges in Bhiwandi were submerged, causing major traffic disruptions in Bhiwandi city and nearby areas.
The Valkas Bridge in Bhiwandi was also under water, cutting off vital connectivity to several villages. As a precaution, traffic police halted vehicular movement on the Raita Bridge along the Murbad–Malshej highway.
Kalyan Tehsildar Sachin Shejale inspected the situation on Sunday night and later confirmed that traffic had been restored in some areas. In Bhiwandi, vehicles faced difficulties traveling from Thane to Anjurphata due to waterlogging in several low-lying areas.
Waterlogging was also reported in many parts of Kalyan city. The busy Shivaji Chowk was flooded, leading to significant traffic congestion.
Officials said floodwaters began to recede after the rain subsided, and traffic on the affected bridges would resume soon after. The administration has advised citizens to check for updates before traveling.
