
The civic body has urged residents to avoid stepping out unless absolutely necessary and to stay away from trees, dilapidated buildings, hoardings, electric poles and other potentially hazardous structures. Citizens have also been advised not to park vehicles under trees and to avoid visiting beaches and waterlogged areas.
The BMC appealed to people to rely only on official updates, avoid spreading or believing rumours, and follow all advisories issued by the administration and disaster management authorities.
In case of emergencies, residents have been asked to contact the BMC helpline 1916 for immediate assistance.
The civic body said around 15,000 officials and staff from various departments have been deployed on the ground, while senior officers are closely monitoring the situation and coordinating relief measures.
