Very soon, Mumbaikars will see a respite from a scorching heat. The Meteorological Department has predicted that there may be heavy rain in Mumbai on August 24-25. According to the Meteorological Department, a low pressure belt has formed in the Arabian Sea near Karnataka and is moving north. Therefore, in the next two days it will pass over Mumbai and due to its effect, there may be heavy rain in Mumbai on Saturday and Sunday.
Yellow alert on Saturday and Sunday
The Meteorological Department has not only issued a yellow alert in Mumbai and Thane for August 24 and 25, but there is a possibility of heavy rain with heavy thunderstorms at some places in Mumbai till Monday, while an orange alert has been issued in Raigad for three days from Friday, August 23.
On Wednesday, Mumbai recorded a maximum temperature of 33.7 degrees Celsius which is the hottest August day temperature recorded in the city since 1969. The Santacruz observatory registered 33.6 degrees Celsius.
