IMD predicts 18 high tides this rainy season

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted more than average rainfall in the city this monsoon season. Though Mumbaikars may get happy on this projection, they also need to careful as the IMD has warned of 18 big tides during this rainy season. The BMC disaster management cell has also issued warning in this connection.

The IMD has said on Wednesday that the country would receive more than average rainfall this year due to the weakening of El Nino effect. As per BMC disaster management cell, the city will experience 18 high tides this rainy season. The highest tide of 4.97 mt high is predicted on June 26. Tides between June 23 to 28 June will be more than 4.5 mt high while similar scene would be experienced between 22 to 27 July and 21 to 24 August, it has been warned.
