In India, women have suffered through thousands of years of injustice. But with development, today, women are making leaps and have gone on to become astronauts, pilots, military officers and much more, mentioned Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari, stated accounts. He elaborated that soon, the proportion of women in the Police Services, Revenue Services, Indian Administrative Services, etc. will be greater than 50%.

At Raj Bhavan, a ceremony was being conducted to award the Stree Shakti Samman wherein the Governor, shared his thoughts with the attendees. Those that were awarded during the said ceremony included the likes of editor of weekly ‘Vivek’ Ashwini Mayekar, former Sarpanch Devki Doiphode, Hindi writer Dr Bharti Gore, movie actress Rajeshwari Sachdeva, playback singer Reewa Rathod, athlete Maithali Agasti, businesswoman Swati Singh, Divyang swimmer Jiya Rai, and former Member of National Commission for Women Nafeesa Hussain, state reports.

The social and cultural organization, Abhiyan arranged the program which included an esteemed guest list of Amarjeet Mishra, founder of Abhiyan, industrialist Vinit Mittal and MLA Ashish Shelar.

According to the reports, the Governor acknowledged maternal power which is all-encompassing and important in life. He added that it is a pleasure to witness significant women writers in Marathi newspapers and financial newspapers in the state.
