BMC has taken the decision of setting up Wi-Fi in the civic building, centres, schools, health centres and fire brigade. After consulting with the management the civic corporation took the decision of implementing Wi-Fi. Corporators were demanding internet services in the aforementioned sectors.
Keeping the IT security in consideration, internet services will be setup. Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) will scrutinise the areas before setting up the internet. The information was shared by Mahesh Narvekar, Head Technical Department. Internet facility is available in BMC's Standing Committee's hall since June 2016.
