Isn't Fireman Rajendra Bhojane a Martyr?

Mumbai - Fireman Rajendra Bhojane of Byculla fire station who died on duty on 31 December. He suffered almost for 20 days, he was one of the three fireman who was rescuing a crow which got stuck in high tension wire.

The family of Bhojane demanded that he should be declared a martyr. While inaugurating portrait of Prabodhankar Thackeray, CM Devendra Fadnavis addressed fireman as a martyr. This fueled the demand of declaring fireman as the martyr.

A letter has been written to Mayor Snehal Ambekar in regard with this. BMC only paid tribute to the fireman on Wednesday. Before this a fire broke in Gokul building and the deceased fireman Sunil Nesarikar, Sudhir Ameen were declared as martyrs.
