Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases have been rising across the state, and with an aim to curb the same, the state government of Maharashtra has imposed strict guidelines for the next few days. Meanwhile, local administrative offices have been asked to ensure rules are followed strictly.

Observing the same, the Kalyan-Dombivali Municipal Corporation (KDMC) has taken measure to contain the spread of the coronavirus, by limiting the number of visitors to the office. The civic body, on Monday, March 29, 2021, added restrictions on the entry of the people at the offices. A similar decision has been taken for the ward offices too. 

Talking about the same, KDMC Commissioner Vijay Suryavanshi, on Monday, informed that the corporators and office-bearers should attend the office only if necessary and in such cases, booking an appointment over the phone will be appreciated. Further, he suggested the meetings be held online, whereby visitors cannot enter the premises. 

Physical communication to the offices is also restricted and he encouraged officers to use emails instead.

Cases in Thane and nearby areas have significantly increased, and the district has so far recorded over 3 lakh COVID-19 cases. 

The state government has also imposed a curfew in the state, from 8 pm to 7 am. Necessary actions are being taken to contain the spread. Moreover, travelling out in groups of five or more is restricted. Malls, gardens and cinema halls will remain closed post 8 pm until April 15, 2021. Dine-in options are the restaurants and pubs is prohibited, however, delivery services can function. Essential services will function as normal and Mumbai local train services will run as per schedule.

Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has stated that if necessary, the state might observe lockdown, as it would help in reducing the cases. A COVID-19 task force has suggested a strict lockdown considering the increasing cases, however, CM has asked the government officials to draft a plan for lockdown with minimum economic impact.
