Andheri’s Sher-e-Punjab area today woke up with the fear of facing a leopard, which as per reports was spotted there at 6 am on Sunday morning. As per the initial information, the leopard was seen in the Garden lane society in Sher-e-Punjab, after which the information was passed to the police officials who have been at the spot to manage the situation. Sources have also informed that the officials from the forest department have also been informed about the incident.

Similar incidents have been reported in the last few days, where the leopard has entered areas in Mumbai. The main reason for the same could be the encroachment on forests which is eventually threatening the habitat of the wild animals. Leopards have been sported earlier at Aarey Colony, Goregaon and Powai area.

Upon arriving at the spot, the police team immediately took the situation under control. Since the leopard is still in the building, residents have been asked to stay in the houses and keep the doors and windows closed. Further, Megha Makhwana, who lives in the Andheri area, informed Mumbai Live that no one has been allowed to go to the Garden Lane building.
