Maharashtra, on Saturday, recorded 8,139 new cases of coronavirus taking the total number of cases to 2,46,600. It was also noted that 4,360 patients made full recovery from Coronavirus on this day. The total number of recovered patients in the state with the addition of 4,360, now stands at 1,36,985. The active number of cases in Maharashtra now stands at 99,202. The death toll in Maharashtra has crossed the 10,000-mark.

Lockdown has been imposed in various places like Thane, Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad to contain the spread of the virus. Most of these places had been recording an increasing number of cases and thus some curbs had to be imposed. The authorities have also been imposing strict set for rules for its citizens in order to contain the spreading of the virus. People have been told to follow all the rules such as wearing face masks in public places and to follow social distancing norms.

Maharashtra has been the most affected state due to the coronavirus. Drugs like Remdesivir is in huge demand in the state of Maharashtra and other parts of India. So much so that the drug is selling at heafty price in the black market. According to reports, a few people who had been black marketing this drug were caught in Mumbai and authorities are looking into the matter.

The total number of coronavirus cases in India is more than 8 lakh and has recorded 22,687 deaths.
