E-panchnamas are going to be made from next June so that panchamas of damages due to natural calamities are done in time, to avoid farmers' complaints. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced on Monday that, with the help of satellites and drones, damage will be  inspected.


Shinde was speaking at a one-day conference of Divisional Commissioners and Collectors held at Sahyadri Guest House. Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Secretary of Departments were present on this occasion. Farmers have been suffering from many problems such as continuous climate change, unseasonal rain, hailstorm and drought for the past few years. Although many measures are taken for sustainable agriculture, farmers need the right help from the government. The help of modern information technology is being taken to make Panchnama of damage caused in natural calamities in time.

Assistance given to farmers in natural calamities has been increased. Apart from this, along with implementing the increased rates of assistance to be given from the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF), assistance is now being given to farmers up to a limit of three hectares. Shinde said that our government is with the farmers and it is our duty to support them.


The Chief Minister also said that ‘Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi’ scheme has been announced to supplement the subsidy of the state government in the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Samman Yojana, while in the Pradhan Mantri Crop Bima Yojana farmers can now register on the crop insurance portal by paying only one rupee. The Chief Minister also issued precautionary instructions to the concerned authorities to prevent death due to lightning and death due to extreme heat. 


Due to intense heat, hailstorm, unseasonal rain, farmers have suffered a lot in the last few days. It is our duty to support them, to stand by them. The chief minister also said that panchnamas have been issued immediately by the relief and rehabilitation department.


Use of computer systems

E-Panchnama will be done through mobile with the help of information technology avoiding human intervention so that the affected farmers can get help transparently and promptly. Also, the help of satellites and drones will be taken and a computerised system will be used for the survey, Chief Minister Shinde said.
