Mango lovers in Mumbai, rejoice, as reports indicate that mangoes have started arriving in the fruit market of the Mumbai Agricultural Produce Market Committee.

According to sources, the arrival of mangoes is increasing day by day due to which the prices of mangoes have also gone up. However, traders have predicted that mangoes will be available to the general public in the next few days. In addition, earlier on March 14, a total of 443 vehicles, including 26 trucks and 417 lorries, had arrived at the fruit market. As per reports, 23,037 crates of mangoes have entered the market from Maharashtra and 6,582 crates from other states.

On the other hand, Ratnagiri and Devgad Hapus mangoes have entered the market in larger numbers. The outer 6,000 crates contain mangoes from Karnataka and Kerala. However, Kerala and Karnataka mango arrivals have declined over the previous week, while hapus mango arrivals have increased by 6,000 times.

Due to the outbreak of the coronavirus and the subsequent lockdown last year, the mango market in the APMC market had suffered great losses. Moreover, climate change in the state had hit mangoes and other agricultural products. Even though climate change has affected the crops this year as well, the instances of mangoes in the market have witnessed an increase.

Meanwhile, as a result of the untimely rains across Maharashtra, the mango crop in Ratnagiri and Devgad areas has reportedly been affected. However, traders predict that the mango inflow will increase significantly from the months of April to May.
