As per the guidelines issued by the ICMR and the state government, citizens are required to wear masks in public places to avoid getting infected from coronavirus. However, officials have found out that many people do not wear masks, and have been flouting the social distancing and other guidelines issued by the government.

In an aim to control the same, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has decided to take action against them and has recovered the fine. Furthermore, officials in Ward K-West (Andheri West) have now appointed a team of marshals to take action against those who do not wear masks.

Authorities have noted that as lockdown is now gradually easing,  people have started leaving homes and crowds have increased on the streets. Observing this, the officials in Andheri are working hard to take action against those, who walk in the Andheri west without wearing masks and do not follow the rules of social distance.

Six marshals have now been asked to follow up on the same, out of which a team of three have been deployed to take action in and around Andheri West. Each squad consists of two marshals and a security guard, and these teams have been assigned to ensure the rules are followed strictly.

In order to prevent any sort of malpractice, only employees from the municipal corporation have been appointed as marshals instead of the contract system. Anybody who violates the terms, and poses as marshals will be prosecuted, and strict actions will be taken by the officials.
