Now, metro tickets are available on the Uber app in Mumbai. Commuters can buy tickets for Mumbai Metro Line 1 (Versova–Andheri–Ghatkopar) directly through the Uber app. This is the first time Uber has launched this feature in Mumbai.
Earlier, the same facility was introduced in Delhi and Chennai. With this, Mumbai commuters can now purchase metro tickets without leaving the Uber app, avoiding long queues and making the ticket-buying process easier.
This service has been made possible through a partnership between Uber, Mumbai Metro One, and the ONDC Network.
The new feature will be especially beneficial for passengers on the Andheri–Ghatkopar route, as they no longer need to stand in long lines to buy tickets.
Shiv Shailendran, Director of Consumer Growth for Uber India and South Asia, said,
“With the introduction of metro ticketing on the Uber app in Mumbai, commuters will face shorter wait times, less hassle, and more control over their travel.”
Nitin Nair, Senior Executive Director at ONDC, added,
“Integrating metro ticketing on the Uber app through the ONDC Network shows how India’s digital infrastructure is transforming daily convenience. After Delhi and Chennai, we’re delighted to bring this feature to Mumbai, strengthening the open digital ecosystem for public transport.”
