The Mumbai Traffic Police has announced the closure of Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) Road 16 for vehicular movement on the request of the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) until February 15. Besides, traffic on some routes has also been diverted.
This development came as in the next few weeks, MMRC will remove the steel deck laid by Larson & Toubro and rebuild the road.
Road No. 16, MIDC, Andheri East (New Fancy Mobile Shop to Vodafone Gallery) will remain closed to all types of vehicular traffic.
As per the traffic police advisory, “All types of vehicles from MIDC Road 16 in Andheri (east) will take a right turn, then a left turn at MIDC Central Road 13 and then another left turn at B Cross Road at MIDC police station to proceed to Kondivita.”
Meanwhile, motorists from Kondivita Road towards MIDC Road 16 can take a left turn on RK Road, a right turn to Andheri Kurla Road and again a right at Chakala Junction to MIDC via Mahakali Caves Road, the statement added.

Explaining further, police officials stated that the traffic arrangements have been made in order to prevent danger, obstructions, and inconveniences to the public as the work of removing the steel deck laid by Larson & Toubro (L&T) at MIDC Metro Station and rebuilding the road is undertaken.
The order was issued on December 14, 2022, by Dr. Raju Bhujbal, Deputy Commissioner of Police, (Eastern Suburb) Traffic, Mumbai.
