Ahead of Ganesh Chaturthi, the preparations are in full swing in and around Mumbai while the city administration has also become alert. However, the condition of roads in Mumbai is dissatisfactory and huge potholes amid monsoon season contribute to the public anger.

While keeping in mind the irresponsible outlook of the municipal corporation, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) carried out a ‘Gaddha Bharo’ (pothole filling) movement.

Ganpati 2019 will be celebrated September 2 onwards and from Bhiwandi to Vasai and Mumbai to Pune, several Ganesh Utsav Mandals have started establishing idols. On Sunday, a public Mahamandal situated at Kapaali faced problems due to potholes on Kalyan road while getting the idol.

The potholes were filled near the Shitaladevi Temple and Lakda Market on Kalyan road under the leadership of AIMIM’s Shadab Usmani, who is the party’s Bhiwani unit district President.
