As the southwestern monsoons exit the city, Mumbai, on Saturday morning, felt a chill in the air as the minimum temperatures witnessed a decline.

As per reports, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) Santacruz observatory clocked a minimum temperature of 21°C, which is 1.4°C below normal. Mumbai experienced a long monsoon season this year. The city, in the next few months, will witness winters and will experience a decline in the heat. However, the city might experience showers for a few days in mid-November and the same would be the case in some parts of the state. Winters in Mumbai will begin from mid-December and the temperature this year is expected to drop to 15-16 degrees, with the lowest of 12 to 13 degrees on some days.

Earlier in August, the people of Mumbai experienced torrential rains which broke many records since 1958. In August 1958, the Santa Cruz Observatory recorded 1,254 mm of rainfall.
