The Adani Group will redevelop approximately 29 acres of land, including the headquarters of the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) at Bandra Reclamation, adjacent to the Bandra-Worli Sea Link. For this work, the MSRDC headquarters will soon be vacated and MSRDC will operate from a leased space until the headquarters is redeveloped and the new building is completed. Accordingly, MSRDC has identified a site in the Kohinoor Square building in Dadar.

MSRDC is constructing a road network of over 4000 km across the state and this requires a huge amount of funds. To meet this need, MSRDC has decided to raise funds by developing the plots it owns. Accordingly, a total of 29 acres of land, including the MSRDC headquarters in Bandra West and the casting yard, will be redeveloped.

The Adani Group has won the tender for this. Meanwhile, a public interest litigation (PIL) was filed in the High Court objecting to this redevelopment. Due to this, the work on this project could not start. But now the path for the project work has been cleared. A few days ago, the court dismissed the public interest litigation. Therefore, preparations to start the work on this project have now gained momentum. As part of this, preparations have now begun to shift the MSRDC headquarters to a rented space.

MSRDC had sought a temporary office at Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC). However, as space was not available here, a site in the Kohinoor Square building in Dadar has been identified and the necessary work has begun there, informed a senior MSRDC official.

According to officials, the MSRDC headquarters will be shifted to Kohinoor Square in January-February 2026. The Adani Group will pay INR 2 crore per month as rent. From the time the headquarters is vacated until the possession of the headquarters space in the new building at Bandra Reclamation is taken, a monthly rent of INR 2 crore will be paid. MSRDC will be given 50,000 sq. ft. of space for its headquarters in the new building. This space, along with furniture, will be developed and handed over to MSRDC by Adani.
