The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) strike, which has been going for nearly a month, is now getting murkier as the four to five Janshakti Sangathan workers smeared black oil paint on the official residence of state transport minister Anil Parab on Tuesday, November 23.

According to reports, the accused have now been detained.

As per a video clip shared by news agency ANI, the Janshakti Sangathan workers, who are protesting against the strike, were removed from the premises of Parab’s house and have now been detained.

This comes a day after the NCP chief Sharad Pawar and Anil Parab met on Monday, November 22, to discuss the demands of striking workers.

Parab clarified that the issue of merger is before the High Court and a committee has been appointed in this regard, and according to the report of the committee the decision of the court will be accepted, but the government will also present its side to the committee.

The strike by MSRTC workers has been ongoing since October 27 and though it was called off later, some staffers continued the agitation, impacting operations of MSRTC bus fleet and revenue generation.

Reports stated that on Monday, November 22, 6,943 employees reported to work. Till 8 pm, MSRTC ran 197 buses and transport 4,848 passengers.
