According to the latest reports, on Wednesday, March 2, the Maharashtra University of Health Science (MUHS), released a notification requesting details of medical students who have returned to the state from Ukraine, in the last week.

However, the notification does not mention the reason behind the same, with this, speculations are claiming that many alleged this could be an attempt to accommodate these students.

On the other hand, the MUHS has claimed that this is an exercise to update its record on the number of students from the state, studying in Ukraine, cited accounts.

Based on narratives, MUHS Registrar, Dr Kalidas Chavan was reportedly quoted elaborating on how the attempt was only to collate the data of such students. On Wednesday, Amit Deshmukh, Medical Education Minister in a speech had remarked that Maharashtra was looking at ways to offer temporary help to those students returning from Ukraine.

This further added fuel to the fire of speculations that the government was looking to accommodate the returning students in its state colleges. This, however, has upset students.

It added that a form is given on the website since the body was collating data. The circular has a form attached that needs to be sent to the MUHs eligibility section via email.
