Mumbai's Lowest Temperature This Season Recorded At 14 Degrees

It is pertinent to note that Mumbai had recorded the second lowest temperature on Sunday, January 21, when the minimum temperatures dipped below 16.1 degree Celsius.

For the first time this winter, Mumbai’s minimum temperature dropped below 15 degrees Celsius on Monday, January 22. With this, the city records its lowest temperature of the season.

India Meteorological Department (IMD)’s Santacruz and Colaba observatory recording a minimum temperature of 14.8 and 19.6 degree Celsius. However, the maximum temperatures hovered around 30-31 degree Celsius at both the observatory.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday morning, January 23, the IMD website's daily temperature showed 16 degrees Celsius with 63% humidity.

It is pertinent to note that Mumbai had recorded the second lowest temperature on Sunday, January 21, when the minimum temperatures dipped below 16.1 degree Celsius.

Mumbaikars continue to witness chilly mornings and evenings since the past week with recording less than 20 degrees Celsius.

Moreover, the city will witness a pleasant week ahead, thanks to the influx of northerly winds. For a couple of days, the minimum temperatures will continue to remain in the current range of around 17 degrees Celsius while the maximum temperatures will remain around 32 degrees Celsius. Following two-three days, the temperatures could increase but there won’t be a major departure and the weather will remain pleasant, weather department officials added.

Meanwhile, the city’s air quality deteriorated, with the overall AQI touching 130 on Tuesday morning with people bursting firecrackers throughout Monday.

At 335, Deonar recorded ‘very poor’ air quality on Tuesday. In stark contrast to this, several pockets recorded the Air Quality Index (AQI) in double digits with the best air quality observed in Borivali East (71), Colaba (80), Vile Parle (81), and Powai (88).
