Mumbai Records Temperature Below 20 Degrees For Third Consecutive Day

Jalgaon recorded the lowest minimum temperature in Maharashtra for 2 consecutive days on or below 10 degrees Celsius. It is pertinent to note that the other cities and districts in the region recorded less than 20 degrees Celsius.

Mumbai has recorded the minimum temperature below 20 degrees Celsius for the three consecutive day.

This comes despite the minimum temperature in Mumbai rose to 17.3 degree Celsius on Wednesday, January 17, from 16.2 degrees on the previous day, January 16.

IMD experts have attributed the current chill as a result of north and north-westerly dry winds blowing into the city. This may last for at least the next seven to eight days with minimum temperatures hovering around the current range.

Meanwhile, maximum temperatures continued to stay below the 30-degree mark as IMD's Colaba and Santacruz observatories recorded maximum temperatures of 29.3 degrees and 29.1 degrees, respectively.

Jalgaon recorded the lowest minimum temperature in Maharashtra for 2 consecutive days on or below 10 degrees Celsius. It is pertinent to note that the other cities and districts in the region recorded less than 20 degrees Celsius.

IMD records show that 16.2 degrees is the lowest so far this season. However, in the past years, the month had recorded even lower minimum temperatures. Last year the lowest minimum was 13.6 degrees on January 15 and in 2022, 13.2 degrees on January 10.
