Mumbai airport will be shut down for an hour each day from January 12 to 14. This is to make way for Indian Air Force (IAF) drills over Marine Drive. The closure will take place from 12 pm to 1 pm.

The airspace below 12,000 feet over Mumbai will be closed to all civilians. During the closure, no flights will land or take off from Mumbai. However, flights will continue to fly over Mumbai airspace, but only at altitudes above 12,000 feet.

The two runways of the Mumbai Airport, also known as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA), will be completely closed. The airport has advised passengers to confirm their booked flights with the airlines before arriving at the airport.

According to reports, airlines were informed well in advance about the shutdown. This was done to ensure that no flights would be affected by this closure. The information was also shared by air traffic control with airlines, pilots, and stakeholders.

Juhu aerodrome is the busiest helipad in India. It does not host any airline flights. Most of the helicopters from this location are used for offshore activities.

The Mumbai Traffic Police also posted an advisory for the show. To reduce traffic congestion, arrangements will be made from 9 am to 5 pm on January 13 and 14. NS Road will be closed during these times, with exceptions for emergency vehicles.

The air show will take place over Marine Drive from 12 to 1 pm on January 12 and 14, 2024. The event will feature a variety of aerial presentations. This includes a flypast and low-level aerobatic performance by the Su-30 MKI, parachute and freefall shows by the "Akashganga" team, and C-130 aircraft. The 'Sarang' helicopter display team and the Suryakiran Aerobatic Display Team (SKAT) will also perform aerobatic acts.
