The Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) Undertaking will operate 25 extra buses daily to help pilgrims during the Mahalakshmi Yatra and Navratri celebrations in Mumbai. These services will run from September 22 to October 1, 2025.
Thousands of devotees visit the Mahalaxmi Temple every year during Navratri. The extra buses will connect Mahalaxmi Temple with Byculla and Mahalaxmi train stations as well as suburban areas. Existing routes passing through the temple area will also see extra trips.
The additional services will run on important roads leading to the temple. Bus timings and frequency will be adjusted to cover peak hours and the temple schedule. BEST has listed several routes that will run extra services during the festival.

The Mumbadevi and Mahalaxmi temples will remain open for devotees from early morning until late evening during the nine days. The Navratri festival began at 5:30 am on Monday, September 22, with the Mangala Aarti at Mumbadevi Temple. The Mahalaxmi Temple will remain open every day from 5:30 am to 10 pm for darshan.
The following special events have been scheduled during the festival:
1. On Friday, September 26, a Deepotsav will take place from 6:00 pm to 6:30 pm on Panchami.
2. On Wednesday, October 1, a Chandi Mahayagya will be held from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm on Navami.
3. The Chandi Path will also be performed daily by 21 priests throughout the festival.
