Doctors had expressed fear that respiratory disorders are increasing in people. Therefore, the issue of pigeons was constantly raised. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has taken measures for the health of citizens. The civic body is going to take action against the citizens who throw grains to pigeons.

Many researches have proved that the substances released from pigeon droppings and feathers are harmful to health. Aspergillus fungus is found in the faeces of pigeons. This can cause allergies. Also, people with weak immune systems get lung infection. As a solution to this, the clean-up marshal of BMC is going to keep an eye on those who throw grains and grains to pigeons. A fine of INR 100 to INR 500 will be levied if found feeding grains.

There are pigeon houses in Bhuleshwar, Dadar, Mahim, Fort, Matunga in Mumbai for the last several years. Here, many citizens feed chickpeas, wheat, rice and dal to the pigeons. In Mumbai, the problem has increased due to the increase in the number of pigeons in the area of pigeon houses and societies, grain selling shops. That is why the civic body has decided to take immediate action.
