The number of people traveling without tickets in the railways is more, thus affecting the revenue of the railways. At the same time, ticket holder passengers are inconvenienced. Therefore, a special ticket checking campaign will be implemented for the next one month to arrest those traveling without a ticket in the railways. This special campaign will be implemented from February 12th to 25th and March 15th to 31st. Therefore, the railway administration has appealed to the passengers to take the right ticket and travel by train.


The number of ticketless passengers traveling from first class local trains along with second class coaches on Central, Western Railways is increasing. Also, the number of passengers traveling without tickets in air-conditioned local trains is also more. Therefore, ticket holders have to endure bumpy journey. As a result, passengers complained to the railway administration several times about this. Passengers are advised to check their tickets in running air-conditioned and general local first class coaches.

Subsequently, a ticket checking campaign was conducted at crowded stations on the Central and Western Railways. Along with this, a special ticket checking campaign will now be started in every section of the Indian Railways. The concerned have been instructed by the Railway Board to depute ticket checking staff along with commercial officers and teams of senior supervisors from divisional offices as per requirement and personnel from RPF, vigilance and other departments.



Ticketless passengers make the journey of ticketed passengers inconvenient. The train fares are very reasonable. Similarly, arrangements have been made to get instant tickets through UTS and other facilities. Therefore, passengers should travel by taking a ticket or pass”, said Dr. Swapnil Neela, Chief Public Relations Officer, Central Railway.
